Let us start with some basic lightsaber training and terminology.
Your lightsaber or sword handle, commonly known as the hilt, has three main pieces: the emitter, the hilt body, and the pommel. The emitter is where the blade comes out, the pommel is at the other end, and the hilt body takes up the space in-between and is where your hands are normally placed. The blade itself is called just that. The Japanese have many different names for each little section of the sword but it is up to you if you want to learn all of that terminology. Everything you need to know, though, to discuss the sword can be summed up in those five terms.
If this were a “functional” lightsaber capable of emitting light and sound, it would have an activation switch somewhere on the hilt as well.
